I found it!

I found the picture that I wanted to show your guys when I was writing this post!

This, so far, is the one picture that shows how bad our birthday bashing can be.

*

The bits and chunks that you see if you look closely – flour + water + food colouring + other stuff I don’t remember.

The fact that I only got cake and water and flour thrown at me this year, I should be grateful. I forgot i’ve been through worse.

Seriously, mixing the flour with water first creates wonders. It’s even worse then being splashed with water then have flour thrown at you.

This was from Min’s birthday bash. No, I wasn’t the birthday girl

As I’ve said. Organisers don’t usually stay clean.

Shit.I have 3 tests on consecutive days next week.

I should be studying not looking at my pictures X)

*huffpuff* Must study. Jessica Loi Li – Wei, study please! *huffpuff*

Birthday Bashes March 7, 2009

Birthday bashes. An event where the organisers get all the fun.

I have had my fair share of birthday bashes. The thing is, once you start one bash, you are obliged to continue. Why deprive everyone all the fun, right =)

Min and I were the organisers, most of the time.We had the best time ever. Who’d thought planning evil things, I mean planning birthday celebrations could be this fun XD

#1. The 1st bashing

#1. The 1st bashing

Our first ever bashing. With whip cream and the first victim. Since then, we’ve been bashing every single person. For the whole year.

Oh, I remember Heng Li’s bash.

#2. Bashing HengLi.

#2. Bashing HengLi.

I just don’t remember what was it we threw at him.

Oh the mess was terrible. Of course the organisers ALWAYS HAVE TO CLEAN UP.

#3. The mess.

#3. The mess.

And the organisers NEVER STAY CLEAN.

#4. I just had to put this up!

#4. I just had to put this up!

It always gets worse, bash after bash. The smell gets worse but it is always worth it.

Cause that very night, we went out and had fun.

#

#5. At place-I-can't-remember'name

The worse one was Jun Man’s. His was the last bash we were ever gonna do. So it had to end with a bang. And we got smarter. Egg, flour, water, vinegar, some black thing, dahl, milo, egg shells, and whatever we could find. Everything, poured into a bucket. All we needed was a blindfold and someone to do the pouring. We were all set.

#5. Heng Li's car

#6. Heng Li's car

Well, sort of set. We forgot about the car.

As the organisers, Min and I will never be able to excape any bashing when our birthday comes. I remembered for both our bashes, we actually changed our shirt first before going to our bash without a fight  -_-’

It was my 19th birthday. I was wearing white. Obviously I had to change!

They blindfolded me.

#6. Poor me.

#7. Poor me.

Then threw me…

#7.

#8.

… into my swimming pool T_T

#8.

#9.

And you’d thought that was all.

#9. Flour

#10. Flour

I ended up spending my whole afternoon, bathing.

#10.

#11.

That was my 19th Birthday.

My 20th birthday was like heaven. We got tired of organising anymore bashes, so the bashing stopped.

I thought I could escape this year’s birthday bash because I would have been in Penang during my birthday.

How wrong I was. I got bashed twice.

First, I get bashed with cake. [Video is up on Facebook. Youtube has failed me. I cannot seem to put it up on Youtube.], then sigh, second bashing cost me my sleep – slept at 4 am that night, washing my hair and clothes.

I still don’t know how to react to birthday bashes. Even after all those amazing ‘experiences’

I am not sure if I should be angry and upset that I was drenched in cold water at midnight and had flour thrown at me, ALL OVER MY HAIR, MY FACE AND INTO MY MOUTH!

Or should I be happy that everyone remembered, and so many of them walked from their hostels, so far away, to celebrate the minute I turn 21 with me.

You guys had a sneak preview, no reason why you can’t guess what happened to me.

Pictures #12 – #15 were taken with MY camera. Why in the world will I bring my camera down, just to get surprised with water and flour? I didn’t.

My roommate, Jitsan stole my camera when I was bathing and passed it to Kris T_T Thus all the pictures and videos [but not uploaded yet.]

I am lagging behind in assignments now. Procrastinate too much XP

Which also means, I can’t tell you guys about my Birthday Bash! Oh, it was a surprise alright.

Nah, give you all Sneak Preview first.

Seriously, I thought I could have a nice, quiet and clean birthday this year. I guess not.

Becoming 21 February 28, 2009

I wrote this in September 2005,

2006: Next year
The year I turn 18 and supposely get more freedom from my parents.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a scholarship to somewhere or my second option is form 6. Hopefully I’ll be able to get straight A1s that I’m working hard for now. And if I don’t, hopefully I won’t be too disappointed and my parents would not be crushed. Hopefully I’m able to be clearer of what I want in life.

Hopefully.
I guess all I can do is hope and do all I can to head towards my goals.

Well, it’s 2008 now. I am turning 21 tomorrow. Nope, I did not get the straight A1s that I wanted. Nope, I did not get any scholarships to anywhere, so I went to form 6. Guess what, Form 6 didn’t turn out as bad. In fact Form 6 was probably one of the best things to ever happen in my life =) In form 6 I found my buddies and it was in form 6 that I got my first taste of AIESEC.

So how do I rate 2006? I loved it.

2015: 10 years later
Successful in my career and most importantly, life.

I’ll be 27. I really do not know whether I would have found the person to spend my life with yet. What I know is, being typically me, I most probably be putting alot of my time in my career. Hey, maybe during those ten years, I’ll be able to find my soulmate.

About my friends. I don’t know whether we’ll keep in touch long enough but we’ll never know right? We will see how things go. Maybe in ten years time, when I open the newspaper I’ll see Chee Hee invent a new medicine, or Suet in Africa helping the people there, or even Clem earning millions from one of his those stories he writes.

Whatever happens, whether we succeed or fail, as a friend of mine told me, “We will survive, no matter what.”

2015. Well we are not there yet. What remains true is, well, my career is still my main aim now. The difference is that my measure of success if probably not the money I am able to earn or how high of a position I am able to reach anymore. I guess 4 years down the road, slowly, I changed my mindset and opinions about alot of things. I guess people mature =)

Becoming 21, would not have been this significant is it wasn’t for the amazing people I have around me and the experience I’ve gained.

For these 21 years, I grew up with an amazing family I will never ask for more.

In these 21 years, I have had my ups and downs, met bitches and bastards but I have a groupd of amazing friends. I can proudly say, though we are now all over the place, we are still close in our way. I love you guys.

For 21 years, I have been searching and looking for who I am. As cliche as that might sound, but we are all looking for ourselves in some ways. I think I am still searching, but I’d like to think that I am almost there. =)

21 years. I am 21 years old. Wow.

If you wanna know how does becoming 21 feels like.

It feels great =)

Something happened to me at midnight. I thought I could escape it in Penang. Apparently not. Will be blogging about it soon.

It was Valentine’s Day, and they were my Valentines. This year.

We had the same goal. We had to get away from campus, from our work and hectic life. So we did.

Valentine’s Day, a day of romance and love, turned into a day to get away from it all for just one day. To forget about the mountain of assignments and looming deadlines, to, for once in awhile, not think about problems or whatever that is bothering you and to just have some honest, simply girls-day-out fun XD

So, for Valentine’s Day, we watched Inkheart, went from TGIF to Manhatten’s Fish Market and ended up in Sakae Sushi because the earlier two only offered their *cough*overpriced*cough* Valentine’s Menu.

In Sakae Sushi,

we drank green tea [rm 1 and unlimited refills]…

For the past 2 weeks, people have been asking me how am I going to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Well, sometimes I would answer “Nobody to celebrate with lor”, to which people will reply me with either “Sure or noooooooooooot?!?” or “Haiya, no need boyfriend also can celebrate mah”.

Sometimes I would just answer “Going out my other single friends“, then I will get replies like “Hah! Still go out ah with all those lovey dovey couples around?!” Riiiiight.

I get lazy sometimes and is not in the mood I would just say “No”, then I get people asking me back “WHYY NOOOOT?!?! IT’S VALENTINE’S DAY!!!”

Sigh, I just don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day ok. I go out on Valentine’s Day just to show the world what a happy single lady I am haha kidding. I celebrate Valentine’s Day by buying something for myself, to show that I love me ;]

Wait, Valentine’s Day shout outs

To my mum and dad,

No I did not receive roses here in Penang. Sorry to disappoint you.

So… did I receive any at home? Hahahah!

To my BigSis Loi and Bro-In-Law,

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This is your 2nd Valentine’s Day as husbandwife!

To LittleSis Loi,

You probably won’t read this cause you are in NS. Well, go get one bf from NS lah! Once you’ve found one, remember to introduce him to me first. And stop being so fierce.

To my extended family who are not single,

Which are not many for now XD Esther, Suet, Jon, Daniel,… Erm, that’s all ah? I think so. Heh.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you guys and your other half. :] Exploit this over-rated day to celebrate what you guys have with each other.

To my extended family, the single and available ones [or the not-so-available],

Do not worry, Valentine’s Day are for you guys too (and me). Don’t lock yourself up pathetically at home please. Go out. Have fun. It’s a day for romance and love. You can always love yourself hahahahaha!

Anyway, don’t rot miserably at home k!

*Hey sarah, have a safe trip to Australia! Don’t forget to come back to Malaysia!

To Audrey,

The reason why you have a special shout out is cause among 4 of us, you are the only unavailable one. Heh. So, are you happy getting your own, special shout out from me?

So, Happy Valentine’s Day Audrey! Don’t worry if you’re not here in Malaysia to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It is over-rated anyway lol.

To Min and Heng,

Yes, both of you may be single, but you guys still have meeeee :D

Min, don’t be sad, I am sure your ‘one’ will come soon. Don’t be sad Hahaha and please don’t kill me for assuming you will be sad.

Heng, aiya what to say about you ah? You chose to be single. Cannot be helped lah you. You should have kept your long hair Hahahaha.

p.s. LDRs are so hard lah! I miss both of you :( and Heng you owe me dinner at Murni :)

To all my friends and readers,

Happy Valentine’s Day! Doesn’t matter if you’re single or not, just go ahead and enjoy yourself on this day.

Buy gifts for your other half, for your loved ones, for your friends or for yourself! Ok, I admit, I am going to buy something for myself tomorrow.

and lastly

To myself,

For 20 years, Valentine’s Day came and went. And for those 20 times, you have never before celebrated this day.

Well, today is the 21st.

Happy 21st Valentine’s Day.

Chinese New Year February 2, 2009

This year for Chinese New Year, I have only a week in Subang Jaya to spend with my family and friends. A huge difference from the previous years when I celebrate CNY for 15 days straight.

But I think CNY, although shorter this time, is still as enjoyable.

I camwhored just as much. How can I not! Then buying all those new clothes will just be a wasted of time.

Gambled even more, and won :) For the first time in many years, I won.

CNY this year was more meaningful for me. It was a reunion for me. A reunion with my family and friends after being away from home. I am very sure it was even more meaningful for my parents whose eldest daughter is in Singapore, their second daughter (me) in Penang and their youngest daughter in Gopeng for National Service.

CNY was also different for me this year. I celebrated my 21st birthday – a month earlier.

Yes I know my birthday is on March 1st. I am not delusional ok. My mum suggested (actually she insisited) that I celebrate my 21st birthday during CNY cause I won’t be home till May. And because she celebrated BigSis Loi’s 21st birthday, so she must celebrate mine too. Haha. Thanks MummyLoi.

I hope you guys had an amazing Chinese New Year. If not, you have one more week. Chinese New Year has 15 days for a reason :)

From New Year onwards January 7, 2009

Sorry for the absence from my blog. I haven’t been very free since new year. After New Year, I had to go back to Subang (yet again) to attend an event in Taylor’s College which I will talk about later, then I fell sick and the next day went out for a farewell party for Rubi which I will talk about later too. Why should I talk about hese two events later?

Because I want to tell you guys about my New Year’s celebration!

At first I thought I would be celebrating 2009 in campus cause Rapid Penang do not operate after 10pm. Apparently, Rapid Penang extended their operation hours to 2 am specially for New Year. Yay. So out I went, to Queensbay Mall. Queensbay Mall had this mini concert thingy going on outside, but I had a craving for ice-cream. So, I spent my time indoors at McDonalds to buy ice-cream.

#1. Jit San and I

#1. Jit San and I

I wasn;t the only one who wanted to eat ice-cream! There was a loong queue outside the McD’s dessert counter. So while waiting, we did the obvious.

#2. Jia Xiang and I, probably the person who layan's my antics the most

#2. Jia Xiang and I, probably the person who layan's my antics the most

Ok, thing about Jia Xiang is, I love taking pictures with him. Though he may always say “Why you all force me to take gay/silly/sampat pictures with you all wan?!!” he still does take gay/silly/sampat pictures with us. So Jia Xiang if you are reading this – you cannot escape taking pictures with me. =)

#3. Wilson and McD's Sundae

#3. Wilson and McD's Sundae cone

The last food item I had for 2008 was McD’s Chocolate Sundae. Heavenly I tell you.

#4. With friends...

#4. With friends...

Then again, ice-cream wouldn’t taste as nice if I did not have it with my dear friends. New Year won’t be as fun and meaningful to celebrate without friends. Although I may not be with my extended family, getting drunk, I still had fun. The initial idea was to walk back to USM from Queensbay which is actually very far, but we thought “What the hell, it’s 2008 only once. We might as well do something stupid.” We were lucky though, while we were walking back, a bus passed and stopped to pick us up. And so our legs were saved from torture and we were home safely.

#5. ...and the rest of my friends.

#5. ...and the rest of my friends.

Wait I am not done. I simply cannot not write about this. As I mentioned earlier, the part about my extended family getting drunk. Well, they did, some of them. They got so wasted none of them remembered what they said to me when they called me for new year. Well at least now I know that Shawn loves me, cause he was screaming I Love You into the phone that night.

At midnight things were still fine. Then Heng decides to call me later at 2 am. He was completely wasted then and started saying nonsense. Heng when drunk, talks louder and sounds happier. Euphoric is the better words to describe him that night. Daniel was complaning to me about how he had to clean up Heng’s puke with his hands Hahahahahaha! Lucky for him WaiHong puked into the designated bucket. Esther and KaiTzin came to join them much later (and much too late), after all of them were drunk. Once, I called KaiTzin to check on the drunk ones and I heard Esther screaming in the background. My gosh, I cannot imagine what was going there.

Andy was mumbling into the phone, I couldn’t catch what he was saying except when he shouted at me “JESSICA LOI LI – WEI ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!!!” Obviously I said yes. I don’t want to know what will happen if I said no.

I didn’t know whether to laugh at them or be worried that night. I was worried sick actually. Can’t help it when a group of my friends goes crazy. I am very motherly. I nag. I was actually nagging Heng. What a waste of time, he couldn’t remember what I said anyway.

What a crazy night. I am all the way here in Penang worrying about my extended family who are all the way in KL.

Well, at least I got to see Bosco Wong live. Oh wait did I not mention that earlier?

I got to watch Bosco Wong perform 2 songs that new year’s eve. =)) Though not a big fan, but now I the rights to gloat at all his fans. *GLOATS*

#6. Bosco Wong!

#6. Bosco Wong!

———

I am extremely backdated with my posts. So what I am going to do is combine them all into one. =D Then you guys can slowly read and admire the pictures I am going to put up =D

Over the weekend, I was actually back in Subang Jaya. I bet you guys did not know that.

Oh yeah I cut my hair too. But it didn’t turn out right. Partly my fault for giving such vague instructions to the stylist. Sigh. I shall just live with this horrendous hair till it grows. And no you may not laugh thank you very much.

On the 2nd evening, after my last class I rushed to meet up with my other friends who were going to KL too. We were all taking the 6.30pm bus to KL. 3 of them – Kris, Zach and Peggy are to stay at my house while the others will bunk at some other KL-ites’ house. Oh there were 20 (I think) of us who went down.

Why would 20 of want to go all the from Penang to KL? You see, we are all AIESECers. We were going to attend the elections of the Member Committee of AIESEC in Malaysia that was held in Taylor’s University College on Saturday.

The election process is extremely long because there were 11 candidates running for a position. According to the schedule the elections were supposed to start at 8 am and end at 8 pm. 12 hours. No joke I tell you. For people like us, who don’t exactly sleep at night, well at every break and chance we sleep, or try to.

#7.

#7.

Some of us (who did not get enough sleep too) decided to disturb people instead. Hello, I only got 2 hours of sleep the night before yet I was awake enough to be annoying to the sleeping ones.

#8. Shaun, sleeping.

#9. Shaun, the terrorized

#9. Shaun, the terrorized

Poor Shaun. There are around 10 pictures of us disturbing him while he was sleeping. We got bored after that cause he never moved at all while we were being so irritating around him! and cause he woke up. Heh. Since Shaun woke up, there was no one else we could disturb. The others woke up too easily, we camwhored. My favourite pass time.

Besides taking photos, we made fun of my new hair. T_T I am very sad ok that my hair is like now. How to find boyfriend?! (Sorry, this is actually Min’s line. I borrowed it.)

#12. Making fun of me

#12. Making fun of me

At the end of the day, the election process took around 14 hours. We headed of to Murni for dinner to find it closed. CLOSED! HOW CAN MURNI BE FREAKING CLOSED ON A SATURDAY?!? Sigh. I miss Murni.

——

I wanted to continue with Rubi’s farewell party, but it’s 1:30 am now and I have classes in the morning. So I shall stop here.

Goodnight my dear friends/family/readers. I love you guys so much for being so tolerant when I barely update my blog. =) I mean it.
